MY BELLY GOT IN THE WAY!



Today was my first Yoga class in a week. Leaving all the Christmas foods recently behind me, we begin breathing and relaxing into our sun salutation warm up. My body is a little more wobbly than normal and I notice that my arms won't quite lace behind my back as easily, but I press on knowing that I will loosen up as our practice proceeds.

Breathing, moving into mountain pose, stretching up and diving down into forward fold....WAIT, What the H#!! ???? My Belly is in the way! My nose isn't even CLOSE to my knees! Holy crap! What have I done to myself???!!

I'm a big advocate on eating healthy. As often as I can. But I'm not perfect. No one is perfect. The sooner we all realize that, the more accepting we will be of our bodies and our lives. The sooner we realize that, the healthier and happier we will become.

December is almost gone and the New Year is upon us:

A Resolution for fast weight loss? NO WAY! An action plan for Living Healthy.

A New Diet for quick results? UH-HUH, Not for this girl! A continuation of lifestyle changes that keep showing slow, steady and sustainable results.

Give up since I strayed off the healthy path? Are you Kidding? Not in a million years! We all stray from the path! I know I will stray again! IT IS OK!

98% of "Diets" fail. If you are one of the only 2% that succeed in keeping off the weight from a diet, I congratulate you! For the rest of us? Well, if I'm being honest with you, it just isn't that easy. Having said that, IT IS POSSIBLE to lose weight, feel better, clear our minds, have more energy and FEEL HAPPY!

Here are the Top Three Actions you can take to start living a little healthier and you WILL see results!

  • Add FRESH, CLEAN Vegetables and Fruits into each and every meal. Things like Steamed Broccoli, Spinach Salad, Green Beans, Squash, Berries, Apples, Citrus, etc. Eat the veggie or fruit first! Then eat the rest of your meal

  • Add in a little more activity each day! An additional 30 minutes of movement each day, makes a huge difference! Go for a walk, Dance/bounce around the house to your favorite music, Stretch your muscles, pick one room per day and deep Clean your home!

  • Get rid of Soda and pre-made drinks. This alone will improve your mood (after 3 days...gotta conquer the addiction first!), increase mental clarity and shed pounds!

Even though I indulged this holiday season (and my Belly did get in the way at yoga, lol!), I still feel so much better than I did a couple of years ago. The slow, steady changes have made a big impact on my life,not just in how much I weigh, but also in my skin and hair. In my mood and feelings. And even in my mental focus. All this work is definitely worth it! I CAN'T WAIT to see how I feel with another year of progress!
