HEALTHY LIFE IN 2014



And...We're Off!

Happy New YEAR! 2014 is the year we've all been waiting for!

Weight loss and Healthier Eating, anyone?

That's all I've been hearing about for the past two weeks. The GREAT thing? So many of us are beginning to see that "Diets" don't work! I'm hearing more and more about ..."I need to figure out different foods to feed my family." Or "I really want to change the way I eat." And "How can I incorporate healthier foods into my life, affordably?" These words are MUSIC TO MY EARS!!

Ditching a "Diet" plan and learning to live Healthy, is truly the only way to be successful in meeting your goals. The other thing to keep in mind is that being Healthy is not only about being thin. It is about FEELING GOOD. Eating cleaner foods, (whole foods, whole grains, fresh vegetables) and finding better ways to cook them (frying things on RARE occasion) will literally, clear your mind. You will be amazed at how much clearer your thinking becomes. Your skin will begin to glow, your hair will shine and begin to grow, you will accomplish more due to higher energy levels,you'll feel happier AND...as a fantastic side effect, weight will begin to come off!

Don't believe me? Give it a try! I mean, really, what do you have to lose?

Things to keep in mind as you start on your 2014 journey to health:

  • Small steps are more sustainable.

  • Don't be drastic, begin with realistic and manageable changes

  • Don't deprive yourself.

  • This will create a feeling of not being satisfied. This will impact your success!

  • STOP searching!

  • Just start! Don't hold off until you find the best workout, or the best recipe...just get moving!

  • Treat yourself

  • If you take away a food (I will not have any more cookies!), then that is all you will focus on...cookies. Enjoy one every once in a while and don't beat yourself up about it!

For 2014, don't give yourself a resolution. Give yourself an action plan with attainable goals and sustainable habits. I'm not saying it will be easy, but I can tell you that it gets easier over time! You will have SUCCESS!
